A FDNY Medal Day glimpse of two companies at a significant fire.

We'll let the video and news story links tell the tale. Medal Day 2012 will recognize, among many, Engine Company 201 and Ladder Company 114. Within that article, Dave takes on the purported idea that based on your sizeup of the exterior conditions you can rightly surmize that the people inside have perished.

 

Injury Count In Brooklyn 3-Alarm Fire Climbs To 40

NEW YORK – Fire officials say the number of injuries from a weekend fire at a Brooklyn apartment building has risen to 40. Nine are in critical condition.

The blaze at the four-story building at 61st Street broke out around 5 a.m. Sunday, and was brought under control about two and a half hours later.
